Dicks took an oath of office and was sworn in as the new Florida Chair during a formal ceremony at the Mark Center in Washington D.C. on August 20, 2014. Dicks served at the pleasure of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. After two, three year tours, Dicks will remain in an active leadership role. The Boss Lift Director is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of the state civilian employer orientation program, in which employers are invited to travel to a military facility and to observe, first hand, members of the National Guard and Reserve performing military duties, and the benefits of employing service members.
